Welcome to our Council's web page. We are located in Virginia Beach, VA and our Council's Parish is St. Gregory the Great. Our beginning dates back to May 1985 when Kenneth Zelubowski had a series of conversations with Pastor, Father Paschal N. Kneip, OSB, about forming a council at St. Gregory the Great Church.

After two months of preliminary meetings and preparation, a temporary slate of organizational officers were elected. Past Grand Knight Arthur W. Pearsall, of Father Nicolas J. Habets Council 4632 was elected temporary President, and Brother Kenneth Zelubowski, was elected Secretary.

District Deputy Billy G. (Kelly) Tate, District Two, of the Virginia State Council presided at several follow-on meetings, and on August 13, 1985, St. Benedict Council #9056 was officially chartered with 91 Charter Members (the second largest Council ever formed in Virginia). Shortly thereafter, 34 new Knights were initiated into the Order. At the same meeting, District Deputy Tate presided at the election of officers. Past Grand Knight Pearsall was elected Charter Grand Knight of St. Benedict's Council #9056.
